I won't take the time to explain all the "marvels" of our economic system, I only know an overview myself. One of the things the Federal Reserve (a group of private bankers?) does is to try and regulate the economy. The method currently is broke, because they can't lower interest rates any more, but that's another topic.
What I'm wondering about is a comparison that went through my head. They use a method that has been compared to levers: when the economy is sluggish, they lower interest rates, when it's heating up too fast, they raise interest rates. So what about unity of the masses? When the PTB want to keep the masses divided, say to keep us from realizing the real problems, they pull the division levers. Racism, hot button political issues, etc. But when they want us united, like for war, they pull the unity lever.
I'm not trying to lose friends over whether we should go to war or not, just wondering about that disunity lever.
